Avantgarde Music has announced that it will soon be releasing "Galgenfrist," the latest from Denmark’s Nortt.  Nortt blends depressive black metal’s atmosphere with elements of funeral doom metal, creating dirge-like anthems to death and hopelessness.  Galgenfrist will contain 7 songs and will be released in January as part of Avantgarde’s ultra-limited edition series.  Head to Avantgarde’s MySpace Page to listen to ‘Af Dode’ from the new album.  It appears that Displeased Records will have some copies available once the album is released.

Those unfamiliar with Nortt should also check out their last release, 2007’s Ligfaerd, as well as their excellent split with Xasthur, "Hedengang/A Curse for the Lifeless."  A Nortt T-shirt is also available at Black Goat Records.
