Coming Soon: Heaven Shall Burn - “Iconoclast”

Germany’s Heaven Shall Burn are set to release their latest album, "Iconoclast (Part1: The Final Resistance)" on February 5th in the U.S. and January 28th in Europe.  "Iconoclast" is a concept album, with a central theme of "warriors (Iconoclasts) who are sent to judge and destroy the murderers of God," according to the band.

Following up 2006’s highly-acclaimed "Deaf to Our Prayers," the new release continues to build on Heaven Shall Burn’s unrelentingly brutal mixture of melodic death metal and metalcore.  Unlike many similar bands of this style, Heaven Shall Burn generally avoid breakdowns and clean vocal passages in their songs, instead taking a more death metal-oriented approach to songwriting.  Their sound is uncompromisingly heavy, blending melodic creativity with straightforward aggression.

Head over to Heaven Shall Burn’s MySpace page to preview the track ‘Endzeit’ from the new album.  You can now preorder "Iconolast" at Amazon.com.  Century Media also has some CD/t-shirt preorder packages for the new album.

The band have also recently re-released 2002’s "Whatever it may Take," the precursor to their highly successful Century Media debut, 2004’s "Antigone."
