Coming Soon: Dark Suns - “Grave Human Genuine”

German progressive metal act Dark Suns are set to release "Grave Human Genuine" on February 25th, via Prophecy Productions.  The band has posted a lengthy teaser for the album on the Dark Suns MySpace page

While the band’s previous efforts, 2002’s "Swanlike" and 2006’s "Existence" were well-received and garnered frequent comparisons to the likes of Opeth and Disillusion, the new album is much more than a mere evolution of the band’s previous sound.

"Grave Human Genuine" sees the band adopting a much more diverse and multifaceted sound, something which should both surprise and please fans.  Judging from the samples, the album also contains some sections that are considerably heavier and more aggressive than anything the band has previously recorded.  According to the press release:

"The variety of sounds stretches from angular Metal riff attacks via atmospheric ambient soundscapes and Techno reminiscences to Avant-garde influences – despite this complexity, an accomplished musical mosaic of enormous expressiveness."

Most of Dark Suns’s back catalog, including all of "Existence," is currently streamable for free at Last.fm.  Be sure to check out ‘Anemone,’ the track that got me hooked on them in the first place.
