France’s Amesoeurs have completed the recording of their much-anticipated debut album. “Amesoeurs” will contain 11 tracks and will be released in late March by Code666 Records, with a US release scheduled for April through Profound Lore Records. An album teaser is available for streaming on the Amesoeurs MySpace page.

Amesoeurs frontman Neige (Alcest, Peste Noire, Forgotten Woods) has stated that Alcest’s music aims to explore a connection to nature, while Amesoeurs instead is intended to capture the urban experience. This influence is definitely evident in everything from the album cover art to the sound samples, which certainly have a lonely feel to them that evokes the isolation and emptiness one can encounter in an urban environment. The black metal element of the music seems to be scaled back, but part of the excitement about a Neige composition is waiting to see what new direction he will take his metal-influenced music to next.
