Nadja 2009 Updates

cover art for upcoming 'When I See the Sun Always Shines on TV' release

As usual, Canadian drone/shoegaze duo Nadja has a ridiculous amount of new releases scheduled for 2009. Here’s a look at what’s to come:

“Belles Betes”
This is a 12″ of Nadja versions of Aidan Baker’s solo material. Out very soon on Beta Lactam

“When I See the Sun Always Shines on TV”
A cover album featuring Nadja versions of tracks by My Bloody Valentine, Slayer, Swans, The Cure and more. Out April 28th on The End Records and available for preorder on Amazon.com.

“Numbness”
Contains the well-known ‘Numb’ track and the ‘Long Dark Twenties’ cover, among other things. It will be released April 15th on Happy Prince Records. All the songs are also currently available for streaming from Happy Prince’s Last.fm page.

“Primitive North”
A split CD/12″ with A Storm of Light. Out on March 17 and available for preorder on Amazon.com

“Under the Jaguar Sun”
This sounds particularly intriguing - a double CD with both discs meant to be played simultaneously, kind of like Rosetta’s “Galilean Satellites” album. There will also be a 2×12″ edition featuring the combined mix. Out in May or June.

“Autopergamene”
New full-length comes out in Summer or Fall of 2009 on Essence Records.

“Bodycage”
Will be a double CD released on Profound Lore. Good news for those who haven’t been able to find a copy.
