Entartete Kunts 2009
Entartete Kunts is an annual underground art exhibit based in Portland, OR featuring prominent artists in the extreme metal and punk scenes. This year it’s set to run from June 4th through June 30th at The Life Gallery in downtown Portland. The list of artists this year includes Arik Roper, Lorenzo Mariani, and Kristian Wåhlin aka Necrolord, the man behind the now-iconic cover paintings for Dissection’s “Storm of the Light’s Bane” and Emperor’s “In The Nightside Eclipse”, among many others.
The Entartete Kunts website has a list of the artists and information about the exhibition’s curator, artist Dennis Dread. The Ajna Offensive’s site actually has a much more useful post about Entartete Kunts, with lots of information including blurbs about each artist. Among other things, it mentions that all the participating artists have a sweet deal set up where they get to keep 100% of all art sales they make at the exhibition! So if you’re in the area and can make it to Portland this June, Entartete Kunts is an awesome way to support some of metal’s best artists and check out some sick undergound art!
