Drudkh - “Microcosmos” Out July 14th

Drudkh’s new album “Microcosmos” is complete and comes out on July 14th in the US and June 22nd everywhere else. It will feature 6 new tracks of epic and atmospheric black metal. The sampler track ‘Distant Cries of Cranes’ that’s currently up on the Drudkh MySpace page actually has me fairly excited for the album - it retains the usual heavy, layered sound but seems to up the production values a bit, and also takes some surprising turns toward the end.

Season of Mist is giving “Microcosmos” a similar treatment to what they did for Cynic’s “Traced in Air”: aside from the normal CD release, they are releasing a limited edition boxed set for hardcore fans filled with all kinds of extras. In this case, the “Microcosmos” boxed set will get you the album in digipak format, a CD copy of the sold out “Anti-Urban” EP, a shirt, and an additional booklet. It also comes in a badass wooden box etched with the Drudkh logo (the conventional one and not the stick-looking one, unfortunately).

The boxed set is now available for preorder from Season of Mist.
